None Of Us Lives To Himself
Topic: We Need To Deny Our Own Interest For Christ.
For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself
Romans 14: 7 (NKJV)
Read The Bible In One Year
Romans 14:7 (NIV)-7 for none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone
Romans 14:7 (NLT)-7 For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves.
Romans 14:7 (TLB)-7 We are not our own bosses to live or die as we ourselves might choose.
It is important to bring to mind that the moment we come to commit ourselves to discipleship, our lives change radically! We are no longer the same, our plans, destiny and way of thinking change totally. We come to understand that we no longer live for ourselves but for the Lord. In the next verse of Romans 14: 8 we are told, “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. ” We see that Jesus paid a very high price for our salvation, and it is up to all of us to live exclusively for the plans that he has for us.
Many times, this is not an easy, because many of us are accustomed to live life our way! We in our past life we always did things our way, regardless of God’s will. But the crucial moment comes when we must decide to live one hundred percent for God, and not for ourselves! In 1 Peter 4: 2 he does not exhort by saying, “let us not live the rest of the time in the flesh, according to the lusts of men, but according to the will of God.”
Today is the time to return to the foundations of discipleship. It is very essential to understand that we are going to have to deny ourselves many things in order to please God. Because the plan of discipleship is never about us, it is about those who need our spiritual help! As disciples of Jesus we cannot continue to live for ourselves, but we have to consider how to help others. In Galatians 2:20 we are told, ” I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
This morning we are called to live for Christ, to fulfill the mission that we have before us, to make disciples of the nations! It is time to deny our own interests, and to prioritize the will of God!
Romans 14:9 (NKJV)-9 For to this end Christ died and rose[a] and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV)-19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
2 Corinthians 5:15 (NKJV)-15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)-20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Philippians 1:21 (NKJV)-21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
1 Thessalonians 5:10New King James Version (NKJV) 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
Titus 2:14 (NKJV)-14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
1 Peter 4:2 (NKJV)-2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
