Thoughts of Devotion:

This morning God calls each of us to spend and grow in all aspects of our lives. This year 2021 will be marked and defined by fruit and more fruit, we declare that it will not be a year of barrenness! The perfect will of God is very clear when he tells us in John 15: 8, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” God will be glorified when we bear much fruit, his glory will be seen in our midst as a result of spiritual growth in us. He will never be glorified for barrenness, or little spiritual fruit!

Today is the time to start this process, because it is important to remember that being fruitful for God is in phases and stages. A seed is not planted on Monday and then has fruit awaiting on Tuesday, our development takes a spiritual process! In Mark 4: 28-29 he tells us, “For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.” We all have to go through the whole process in 2021, we cannot abort the seed that has been planted in us!

Some of us interrupted the process in 2020, our seed never produced fruit! We can look back and understand that there was provision that never materialized, miracles that never took place, promises that we did not see fulfilled, and even blessings that were never seen in our lives. Some of us dwindled and lost ground to the enemy in 2020. But 2021 cannot be a repeat of 2020! We must learn from the wrong decisions, from the wrong actions, from the mentalities that paralyzed us and as a result made us produce a field without harvest. Are we ready to see a radical change in ourselves? Get ready because the process needs to start today, if it hasn’t started already!

Foundational Scriptures:

Philippians 2:13 (NKJV) – 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Psalm 138: 8 (NKJV) – 8 The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.

Galatians 3: 3 (NKJV) – 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

1 Thessalonians 5: 23–24 (NKJV) – 23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you isfaithful, who also will do it.

1 Peter 5:10 (NKJV) – 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
