Shines Ever Brighter

Devotional Thought:

Today we are called to be lights in a dark world. In the midst of humanity wandering without direction or purpose, we are different! Philippians 2:15 tells us, “that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” What a blessing we have to be lights in the midst of so much darkness. Many in this world will walk blindly, but we will walk in the light, knowing the path we must follow.

There is a confidence in us that our path is well illuminated by the Lord. There is no room for confusion or darkness in our lives! The Lord is working, and we will see all that He has planned for our lives. 1 John 3:2 tells us, “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” Every day that we walk in His light, we will see His plans and His will for us fulfilled. His work is certain, and we will surely see the fulfillment of His great plans.

We will not diminish or even become dim in our walk with the Lord. Instead, we will be like the light of the sun, shining the glory of God in our lives more and more each day. We will go from glory to glory, from strength to strength until we see all that God has promised each one of us. Let us rejoice because a new day is coming upon our lives, and the best is yet to come!

Proverbs 4:18 reminds us once again, “The path of the righteous is like the light of a new day: it grows brighter until it shines in all its splendor” (DHH-LA). There is still more brilliance, more power, and more glory to manifest in us. Our most glorious days are not in our past; rather, they are in front of us.
