I Bore You On Eagles’ Wings

Topic: God Has Freed Us To Be His Own

‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.

Devotional Thoughts:

The Lord once again reminded the people of Israel how they were miraculously freed from slavery in Egypt. They witnessed how God manifested His mighty hand against the army of Pharaoh. With their own eyes, they saw not only the parting of the Red Sea, but the way the same sea then swallowed those who came after them. I wonder, who could do this? Only the miraculous power of God could make it possible for them to leave Egypt and obtain complete freedom from slavery in which Pharaoh had them bound.

God did all this, but for what purpose? What was the reason for which God delivered them? The main reason was that they would exclusively be His own. The Lord wanted them to be his people! In Numbers 15:41 it clearly tells us that, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am the Lord your God. “By reading this, we understand that God freed the people of Israel with a single purpose, for them to be his special people, His own people! Where He was their God and they were His people.

Thank God that today we are free, just as the people of Israel we have been made free of our past, to belong completely to The Lord. Remember that, You are not of this world, of wickedness, or of darkness! Now we belong to God, We are exclusively his people. As 1 Pedro 2:9 declares, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”. We’ve been made free , not to do what we want, but to be His. Acquired for and by Him, Glory to God for that!
