Devotional Thoughts:

The Apostle Paul describes in his writings of the Epistle to The Ephesians the profound reality of spiritual warfare. He devotes several verses on the subject which in my opinion are of great value to those who wish to defeat and disarm the enemy of our souls. His exposition of this war gives us a broad perspective of how to battle and fight spiritual conflict against our enemy. Paul mentions the need of spiritual armor, but also brings to light something very important if we are to be victorious, prayer!

Although Paul does not compare prayer as a piece of armor, he warns us that without it we will not have the ability to succeed against the enemy. He brings to light the great value of prayer in spiritual warfare. No prayer, no victory! God has given us one powerful weapon, that if we use in the war will produce great results in spiritual conflict. In Lord exhorts us today to, “Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).

We must understand that prayer in spiritual warfare is sometimes not easy. If you want to be effective and see results, it will take a lot of effort and determination. There will be times when our flesh will want to weaken and as a result not fight the battle in prayer. It is at these times that we must strive and fill ourselves with determination to fight! The Holy Spirit is always present to assist and empower us in prayer for spiritual advancement and to see the complete victory. Prayer has the power to demolish strongholds and bring down all the plans and schemes of the enemy. Today we can be victorious, we just have to take the weapon of prayer and with it the victory will be sure and complete.

  1. “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” (Col. 4:2) I am challenged this morning not only to pray but to be devoted to prayer. Prayer changes everything.

  2. Without prayer defeating the enemy is impossible and without prayer we can’t truly have a relationship with Christ.colossian 4:2 said to be thankful.this just encourages me to get deeper in prayer
