I Am Jehovah Your Healer

and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

(NIV) — 26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”

(DHH-LA) – 26 That’s the place where God set up rules and procedures; that’s where he started testing them. God said, “If you listen, listen obediently to how God tells you to live in his presence, obeying his commandments and keeping all his laws, then I won’t strike you with all the diseases that I inflicted on the Egyptians; I am God your healer.”

Thoughts of Devotion:

The promise that God gave to the people of Israel was that He would be their Healer. He promised them that by obeying him they would be free from all the diseases of Egypt. God wanted them to experience total and complete healing. God desired to see his people live daily in obedience, and as a result they would know him as Jehovah-Raph, “I Am Your Healer.” The word Healer (Hebrew: rapha) means to heal, repair, mend, restore health. The Lord reminds his people of Israel that he would be his healing, his doctor to restore his physical, emotional and spiritual health.

This morning God’s promise still stands. God is still a God who heals and restores our lives. The Psalmist tells us that, “Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” (Psalms 103:3). God not only forgives us of our sins, but within our Salvation is our “Divine Healing.” God’s will today is that we know Him as our Healer. He continues to be, Jehovah-Rafa! He has not changed, he is still the same God who heals. Can you believe God for your healing today? Do not allow doubt or insecurity to steal your blessing today. Within this healing is not only our physical healing, but even spiritual and emotional healing.

Let us pray today that we know him as Jehovah our Healer. Psalm 147:3 promises us that, “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” Allow God to sell your wounds this morning. God desires to reveal Himself to your life as a Healer. Thank God for his promise that never fails! Let’s always be grateful to have such a beautiful God that cares about us. He does not forget his own, but his care is always present in our lives. He only requires that we walk in obedience and trust in Him.
