Thoughts of Devotion:
In this morning we can see that Enoch’s faith was one of perseverance. He walked with God daily for three hundred and sixty-five years. This shows us a faith that is firm and constant, what a model of faith was that of Enoch! In every day of his life, he did not let anything change him or move him from his firm faith and intimate relationship with God. He possessed a faith that pleased God as Hebrews 11:5 tells us, “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken, he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
The example of Enoch’s persevering faith and even the great examples of faith show us that a faith that perseveres will have to be continually tested, what a difficult time in life! In the many years that Enoch lived, he undoubtedly had to go through moments of trials and struggles, but it is very clear that he never abandoned his walk with God! He went ahead with his faith in God. His relationship with him was so strong that it led him to persevere in his journey of faith to the end.
Today we must persevere in our faith. We cannot leave our journey halfway because our situation becomes difficult. In Acts 14:22 the Apostle Paul tells us, “Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” In this year, determine not to leave your journey. The Holy Spirit wishes to strengthen your trust and firmness in the Lord. Despite the many tribulations and trials your faith will only get stronger and as you continue your journey of faith.
