To A Perfect Man

Topic: A Challenge To Mature And Grow In God.

Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Ephesians 4:13 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Luke 4-5

Bible Versions:

Ephesians 4:13 (NLT) — 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Ephesians 4:13 (NIV) — 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:13 (MSG) — 13 until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.

Thoughts Of Devotion:

The process of spiritual maturity is essential if we desire to build a firm foundation. It’s a spiritual journey that with no doubt will require that we grow and advance daily. It will be a process where it will be necessary to go to another level of maturity where we progress from spiritual milk to solid food. As Hebrews 5:12 exhorts us, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.”

We have a path that is traced by The Lord, the final goal of this race will be that we “measure up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” (NLT). It’s for this reason that maturity is so important. We can’t remain as a spiritual child, in permanent infancy, it’s urgent that we advance and grow! 1 Corinthians 13:11 tells us.”When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” We must leave childish things and mature to be spiritual people, that our conduct, attitude, thoughts, etc. be more like Jesus!

We must take the challenge today, to leave spiritual infancy, and experience another level of maturity in our lives. Surely this will lead us to reflect Christ more, to the point that the world will see our lives and be amazed by the transforming power of the gospel. All will be able to see the genuine change and total transformation that we will reflect, a work that only Jesus Christ could do! This is the work and task that we have before us. In conclusion I leave you with this portion of scripture that ministered to me, “Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.” (Colossians 1:28).

Foundational Scriptures:

1 Corinthians 14:20 (NKJV) — 20 Brethren, do not be children in understanding; however, in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature.

Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV) — 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Colossians 1:28 (NKJV) — 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Juan 17:21 (NKJV) — 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
