25 Day Series: Internalize The Vision!

“A Call to Internalize God’s Vision in the Year 2021”

Day 22: Thursday, March 25

It Has Not Yet Been Revealed What We Shall Be

Topic: In the year 2021 we must see the fulfillment of the potential of our vision.

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

 1 John 3: 2 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Judges 20-21

Bible Versions:

1 John 3: 2 (NLT) – 2 Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

1 John 3: 2 (MSG) – 2  But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him.

Thoughts of Devotion:

This morning it is a blessing to know that God sees beyond what we see today. The Lord looks at the potential we have in Him to fulfill His vision and plans. We only see what the mirror of life teaches us, a reflection of our present state. But God is so good that He sees the great potential we have! God looks at our future when we only see our present. It is for this reason that we must understand that, although we do not see everything accomplished in our lives, there is the seed of potential in our lives that we have not yet discovered.

What is potential? It is said to be an undiscovered ability, power in reserve, strength ready to be used, abilities covered, success unused, dormant gifts, hidden talent, latent power. All of these words describe the meaning of the word potential. We in the eyes of the Lord have great potential to fulfill the vision that God has given us. We cannot underestimate the potential we have in the Lord. It has been said that the greatest tragedy in life is not death, but life, life that has failed to fulfill its potential. Can you see the potential that God has put within you?

Let’s not make the mistake of not developing our potential in the Lord in this year 2021. It is necessary to take responsibility and intentionally grow the potential that God has given us. The truth is that today cemeteries are full of great men and women who never became great because they never took on this responsibility. What happens to them is what the book Ecclesiastes tells us, “There is an evil I have seen under the sun, As an error proceeding from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, While the rich sit in a lowly place. I have seen servants on horses, While princes walk on the ground like servants.”(10: 5-7).

We must examine ourselves today and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us day by day the great potential we have to fulfill the vision that God has given us. We recognize that potential by itself does not produce anything. It’s like dynamite, just lighting the fuse has no effect! Let us pray that the Holy Spirit lights the wick of our potential so that together we can fulfill their potential in us. 2021 will be a year of seeing our potential unfold in the Lord.

Foundational Scriptures:

Romans 8:29 (NKJV) – 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) – 18  But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

1 John 2:28 (NKJV) – 28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

2 Peter 1: 4 (NKJV) – 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the [a]corruption that is in the world through lust.
