“A Call to Internalize God’s Vision in the Year 2021”

Day 17: Friday, March 19

I May Gain Christ

Topic: To See The Vision Come True It Will Take Surrender And Dedication.

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Philippians 3: 8 (NKJV)

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Acts 20:24 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Judges 4-6

Bible Versions:

Philippians 3: 8 (NLT) – 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ

Acts 20:24 (NLT) – 24 But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Thoughts of Devotion:

Every vision that God gives always requires a commitment and dedication to see its fulfillment. God gives us a vision, but it takes us personally to pay a price to see its fulfillment. If God has given us a big vision, then let’s keep in mind we will have to pay a great price for its fulfillment. This is what the Apostle Paul tells us when he writes, “For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ” Paul suffered a lot and lost himself, so that at last he would come to fulfill the vision that God had given him.

This morning, each of us must understand that God is looking for commitment and dedication on our part. The Lord has given us a great vision! As Victory Outreach International ministry we are called to spread the gospel throughout the world. The truth is that this vision will only be carried out with a people committed to the vision that God has given us. What do we see today? Today we can see not only a local ministry, but it has spread to a global ministry. Victory Outreach ministry is worldwide! We are in more than 30 countries including Latin America, but how did this happen?

Thank God for our Founding Pastors Sonny and Julie Arguinzoni, the Elders, and many Pastors who paid the price as pioneers in the early days of our ministry. They paved the way for us to see the vision come true today with our own eyes. The price was high, as some have even paid with their own lives to bring the seed of the gospel. What about us? Are we willing to pay the price to see the vision fulfilled? God looks for men and women who are not afraid of commitment and sacrifice. Sometimes it will take of our time, skills, finances, resources and if necessary even our own lives. It will take everything, and then more!

Let’s pray that this morning we don’t over estimate our life. As Paul wrote, “I still count all things as loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whose sake I have lost everything, and count it as rubbish, to gain Christ.” The Lord calls us to fulfill this great vision, but let’s not forget that we will all have to pay a price. We will all have to dedicate ourselves and commit ourselves to work. Let us pray that this year 2021 we will not leave the plow, but that with more effort and momentum we will advance towards the vision, whatever it takes!

Foundational Scriptures:

Philippians 3: 13–14 (NKJV) – 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have [a]apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:12 (NKJV) – 12 Not that I have already attained,  or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Romans 8:18 (NKJV) – 18  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

2 Corinthians 5:15 (NKJV) – 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

  1. We must have a commitment to the vision of God. It not going to be easy for it is going to be though hardship that we going to pay the price.

  2. In order to see the vision be fulfilled, we must be willing to dedicate ourselves to the work God has set before; let’s not let go of the plow!

  3. If God has given us a big vision, then let’s keep in mind we will have to pay a great price for its fulfillment.

  4. We must sacrifice for God to fulfill his calling he has for us. God has control over our life and in order for him to fufill what he promised we must sacrifice.

  5. When the calling of god comes we need to remember we have a price to pay and remember our lives aren’t ours but gods.
