Thoughts of Devotion:
God has called us to raise up intercessors in this year 2021. Great things are about to happen in our midst, but it is only by the power of prayer that they will happen! But it is very important to have spiritual insight and to recognize there will be opposition to our prayer and intercession. The moment we determine to see our spiritual victory through prayer, the forces of the enemy will be strengthened! In Ephesians 6:12 He reminds us of this opposition, ” For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We see this reality in the life of the Prophet Daniel, he had to persevere twenty-one days in fasting and prayer, before receiving the answer to his prayer! Satan himself and his armies were involved, there was a spiritual conflict happening in a spiritual environment to prevent Daniel from receiving the answer of his intercession. We see that from day one God heard Daniel’s cry, but the spiritual battle had to be won! In Daniel 10:13 it tells us of this conflict, “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.”
Today we must understand this reality in intercession. You have to be alert and always watching; Only in this way will the enemy not gain advantage of us. In 1 Peter he gives us a warning, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.“ Effective intercession demands firmness, perseverance, and spiritual tenacity. In the year 2021 it will be necessary to intercede until we receive what God has promised us. The enemy will try to hinder and even cancel what God has for our future, but if we fight spiritual warfare we will win! Amen.
Daniel 10:19 (NKJV) – 19 And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
Psalms 34: 4 (NKJV) – 4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Isaiah 35: 4 (NKJV) – 4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) – 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
2 Timothy 1: 7 (NKJV) – 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NKJV) – 18 Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.
Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) – 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
1 Timothy 2: 1–2 (NKJV) – 1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
