Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

Daniel 6:10 (NLT) — But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.
If there is anything the enemy will always attack, it is our prayer life! He hates and despises to see believers filled with the Holy Spirit that take the power of prayer seriously. Those who are continually praying and taking their requests before the Lord. The enemy recognizes that there is no greater power on earth, than the one we find in prayer! For this reason we must never abandon the weapon of prayer, on the contrary we must put into practice what Ephesians 6:18 says, “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”
An example of how the enemy wants to stop and rob our prayer life is in the life of the prophet Daniel. He was a dedicated man who prayed three times a day, But as a result of an edict of the King his prayer life was put in danger! We read in Daniel 6: 7, “anyone in thirty days a petition of any god or man besides you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.” The order was given, and as a result Daniel was forbidden to pray to God, and if he did he would face certain death.
I wonder, what would we have done under these orders? It is very sad but many times the enemy steals or distracts our lives so that we do not have a consistent prayer life. He will do everything possible for us not to pray! Thank God that the Bible teaches that Daniel continued to pray, despite the great danger against his life. He had the assurance that at the end of it all God would deliver him from the den of lions. God rewarded him for his obedience and steadfastness in Him! And in the same way today, never let anything or anyone steal your prayer life. The enemy knows that it is in prayer that we receive great victories!

Psalms 86:3 (NKJV) — Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long.
Luke 18:7 (NKJV) — And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV) — praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
