Thoughts of Devotion:
In these days of searching it will take for us to have a focus exclusively on God. This is the only way we can experience the presence of God in a real and genuine way. This is what the Apostle Paul posed when he wrote in Philippians 3:14, “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” If we are going to seek the Lord in prayer and supplication, it will take for us to put all things aside. We must remove all distractions and obstacles that stop us from meeting the Lord in prayer.
Without a doubt there will always be distractions and things to do in life. Sometimes it seems that the diffrent tasks and things to do never seem to end, they fill our days! As a result of this we end up lossing focusing on what is important. These things stifle spiritual hunger and leave us fruitless as Luke 8:14 tells us, “Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.” This is what happened to Marta, she took care of the daily tasks, at the cost of being at Jesus’ feet enjoying his presence!
It is important for us to focus on these 30 days of seeking his presence, we must not allow the enemy to rob us of this tremendous blessing! If we do not give importance and priority to seeking the face of the Lord, there will always be something more important than seeking God during our busy day. It is for this reason that we must choose the best part, the part that Mary chose, to be at the feet of Jesus! Be determined today to spend time in the presence of the Lord. Just as David noticed Psalm 27: 4, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.” It is only with a focus exclusively on seeking the face of God that you will find Him. Amen!
