Thoughts of Devotion:

God’s promise to us today is that he will give us a heart that knows him more and more each day. A heart that knows Him in an intimate and personal way. The Prophet Jeremiah gives us this promise, “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”(Jeremiah 31:33). God wants to engrave his laws on our minds and hearts! Today God is waiting for us to respond to his move in our hearts so that we seek Him and draw closer to Him.

I wonder today, are we ready to respond to God’s call to seek Him? Once again the Lord calls us to return to his feet. His call is for all of us, but especially for those who go astray and do not know him. In Isaiah 55: 7, we are exhorted saying, “Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” How precious it is that God is great and gives room to receive his forgiveness! There is no reason to stay in our state of coldness and indifference, it only takes us to respond to his call.

We are called to be the people of God. We are his special people and chosen by him to experience his glory and presence daily. The Lord has promised us that if we only look for him, he is ready to meet us. In Jeremiah 29:13 the Lord tells us, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Pray that we will have an ear to hear the voice of the Lord in our lives this morning. May we experience a fresh and powerful visitation in his presence over our lives.
