Thoughts of Devotion:
This morning it is important to see the quality of the ground in which the word of God is sown. The Bible tells us of a good, fertile and fruitful ground. The potential of the seed is always present to bear much fruit, but it depends on the state of the heart! In Ezekiel 36: 26–27 he promises us, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stoneout of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”
The key to breaking down barriers in our lives is to ensure that our hearts are renewed, full of faith to believe what His word promises us! A heart that believes and acts in the word of God will undoubtedly experience another level of growth in your life. In James 1: 22–24 it reminds us of the importance of not only hearing the word, but living it daily, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror…. goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”
Today we are challenged by the Holy Spirit to grow by means of the seed of the word, to be able to bear fruit thirty, sixty, and one hundred fold! In John 15: 5 Jesus reminds us that for this we have been put, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” Daily we must examine our heart and let His word renew us. We must allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to experience a complete renewal!

Hebrews 4: 2 (NKJV) – 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
Hebrews 8:10 (NKJV) – 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Psalm 1: 2–3 (NKJV) – 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
