Also Freely Give Us All Things

Topic: The Security That We Have In God To Answer Our Needs In Prayer.

32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Romans 8:32 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Malachi 3-4

Bible Versions:

Romans 8:32 (NLT) – 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Romans 8:32 (NIV) – 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Romans 8:32 (MSG)— 32 God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?

Thoughts of Devotion:

What a great gift we have received from God, when he gave us his son on the cross of Calvary! His death at the cross is the greatest demonstration of his love for us. Even when we didn’t deserve his love and mercy, when we were lost and hopeless he gave us salvation. In Romans 5: 8 it tells us, “But God shows his love for us, in that, while we are still sinners, Christ died for us.” On the Cross God did not hold back from us, he did not reserve in any way, but on the contrary, gave us the most valuable gift, his eternal salvation!

Knowing this truth, and having this confidence and promise in his Word, one wonders what more God will give us? All it takes is for us to ask him in prayer as 1 John 5: 14-15 tells us, “And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions we have asked him.” Since God made the greatest sacrifice of all, giving his own son, we can draw near to him with our requests and needs.

Surely the Father will answer our request, and He will do much more than we could imagine. In 2 Corinthians 9: 8 he promises us, saying, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that, having always in all things all that is sufficient, you may abound to every good work.” God never fails, when we put our trust in him we can depend on him doing much more than what we ask of him. That is why we must come to the Father in prayer knowing that he will answer our cry. May he always take care of us and never abandon us.
