Leadership Principle: Every Leader Must Recognize The Need To Experience Change And Transformation In His Life. (Part 1)
Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. 38 But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. 39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”
Luke 5: 36–39 (NKJV)
Daily Reading Plan
Luke 5:37 (MSG) – 37 And you don’t put wine in old, cracked bottles;
Luke 5:37 (NLT) – 37 »And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins, spilling the wine and ruining the skins.
Luke 5:37 (NIV) – 37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.
Development of Leadership Principle:
The topic of change is very important in our life, since everything around us is continually changing!
But even more important is the issue of change when it comes to leadership, one may ask, why talk about the issue of change in leadership?
Because change is necessary for progress. No doubt as believers and leaders we will have to change, and even be transformed, if we really want to move forward with the vision God has given us!
It is a reality that the minister always demands new approaches, traditions, structures. Even when seeing our ministry it is very important to understand that we are a movement, not a monument!
Our programs and way of working in the church and ministries should not be structured so much that they do not give way to the fresh touch of the Holy Spirit, a new method or a new idea.
We must understand that there are old things, which no longer have a place in the new thing God is doing or wants to do in the ministry.
As a Ministry of Victory Outreach after more than 50 years there are things that have not changed, such as our vision, values and principles … things that are not interchangeable!
But the methods and way of doing things certainly have changed. It is in these things that we should be willing to change, even if it costs us!
This morning it is important to understand that change is necessary for progress, without change in our lives and ministry we can never move forward!
No doubt as leaders we will have to change and be transformed. We must be able to allow the Holy Spirit to mold and transform us to become more effective in the ministry.
This is part of a leader’s development experience, our spiritual growth and development depends on it.
If we want to move forward with the vision God has given us, we must prepare for change and transformation in our lives!
Our way of being, or way of doing things should not be structured so much that they do not give rise to the fresh touch of the Holy Spirit, a new method or a new idea.
A lot has been said about the change …
He who never sets out to change will be an architect of decay because the only human institution that rejects progress is the cemetery.
When you’re done changing, you’re done. – Benjamin Franklin
Change is difficult, but not changing is fatal.
The world hates change, but it is the only thing that has brought progress.
If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we do not grow, we are not really living.
Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present will surely lose the future. – John F. Kennedy
The most unhappy people are those who are afraid of change.
Sometimes it is a truth that, if we do not change, we will be changed!
I ask you … Are you resisting the dynamics of change in your life, in your person? If so, you may be resisting the same work of God in you.
Today the Lord wants to do something new in your life and ministry. Don’t resist one more day, Ask the Holy Spirit to bring about this change in your life!
