Thoughts of Devotion:
In our christian life it is will be possible to go through a stage of spiritual decline. A time when our communion with the Holy Spirit suffers a setback, and our relationship with Him is not the same as before! We feel that something is missing in our relationship with Him. There is no longer the joy, peace and abundant life we used to enjoy, it is something distant. It’s moments like these that we can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit calling us to reconcile once again with Him. This is the call we read in Isaiah 1:18, “Come now, and let us reason together, ”Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”
In this morning the Holy Spirit tells us, come resolve the matter, let’s have a sincere talk! A conversation, you and I alone. There is no reason to stay in this state, there is hope for you. But, you will have to take the first step. Rest assured that if you approach the Holy Spirit, He will certainly draw you to an intimate communion once again with you. In James 4: 8 he tells us, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” If you approach him with a repentant and sincere heart he will receive you once more.
Today is the time to return once again to the secret place, to the place where you can take refuge from all the chaos in your world. Only in friendship with the Holy Spirit will you find the security, strength and encouragement to move forward in your spiritual journey. Never forget that God is a God of second chances. If you look for him you will find him, if you confess he will forgive you of all your sins, mistakes and stumbles from your past. This morning is a new day, his mercies are new! Approach the throne of grace as Hebrews 4:16 tells us, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” The Holy Spirit calls you to reconcile, to continue your relationship with Him.
