The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Thoughts Of Devotion:
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is a work continually in activity and movement. He is as real today as He was in the days of the Bible! We are able to see that from the beginning in the book of Genesis we find his activity, “and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (1:2). Today the move of the Holy Spirit is present in our midst. His work is very real and very important for the church today.
It is in this capacity that the Word of God describes the Holy Spirit as the wind. In the Gospel of John we see Jesus described the Spirit as the wind, declaring that “the wind blows where it wills. Just as you hear the wind but cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes “(3:8). We understand that the move of the Spirit is sovereign, mysterious and incomprehensible. Who can bind, stop or manipulate the Holy Spirit? No one! He is like the wind, the Holy Spirit is free to move and do his work just as he pleases. Although his works are sometimes hidden and cannot visibly be seen, they are still real.
I wonder, are we open to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit wants to move this morning in a special way in our lives. Sometimes we fail to understand what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives. His work is a great mystery, for the reason that we do not understand his work and its purpose in our situation. In the midst of this, we can trust his sovereignty over every situation we encounter. Our faith must be firm and certain that God knows what he’s doing! Let us pray that this morning we get to see a greater move of the Holy Spirit, that we would be able to see the freedom of the Holy Spirit in us.
Ecclesiastes 11:5 (NKJV) — 5 s you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) — 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Acts 4:31 (NKJV) — 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
John 8:14 (NKJV) — 14 Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.
Psalms 135:7 (NKJV) — 7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.
