Thoughts of Devotion:
This morning the Lord calls us to consecrate our lives to be useful in his hands. Although the issue of holiness is something that is certainly not often preached much these days, it is of the utmost importance! It is a subject in which God makes us responsible, he calls us to strive to live lives that please him! In 2 Corinthians 7: 1 he tells us, “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” It is a call that requires determination and effort.
In the Christian journey there will be things and situations that will want to stain us, and as a result cause us to abandon our consecration to God. It is for this reason that we have to be different. We are called to turn away from bad things, from those things that will contaminate us at the end of the day and destroy our communion with God. In Isaiah 52:11 he gives us this same warning, “11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the Lord.” By reading this portion it is very clear that the Holy Spirit calls us to be able to depart and not be part of the current of this world.
Living in holiness is possible, but you will need to make a firm decision not to run as others run. Sometimes it will even take to go against the flow, making a difference for the Lord! The Apostle Paul reminds us of our past life saying in Ephesians 2: 2, “in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience” We should no longer be the same as we were when we were without Christ and without hope, now we are different, called to live in holiness!

Malachi 3: 3 (NKJV) – 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.
