He May Exalt You In Due Time

Better Days Will Come To The Humble.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Proverbs 7-9

Bible Versions:

1 Peter 5:6 (NLT) — So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

1 Peter 5:6 (MSG) — So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time.

Thoughts of Devotion:

We all want to go to another level of blessing and prosperity. God has promised us that the best days are in our future. Something that I firmly believe and declare over our lives, families and ministry! A future in which we will see the fulfillment of all that God promised each of us who trust and rely on Him. But to experience this we have to recognize that only God can bring this to pass in our future. It will only be when we humble ourselves before Him and acknowledge that without God we will never see days of blessing and prosperity.

The exaltation will come not in our time, but in the time determined by God. He alone is wise and knows the right time for our exaltation! The best days are in our future, but it will be in God’s time. We cannot accelerate on our own time the blessing on our lives, all we must do is humble ourselves before Him, and God will take care of the rest. In James 4:6 it tells us, “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” It’s when we humble ourselves before Him that we receive more grace upon us.

When we humble ourselves before God, we put all our trust in Him! We submit to his will and his eternal purpose in our lives. The center of our lives will not be our plans and agendas, it will only be what God wants and desires for our future. It’s only through us been broken and humbled that we will reach a place of honor, as stated in Matthew 23:11, “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Let us live this prostrated before him, recognizing that outside of God’s plan we will not have success in our future.
