Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NKJV)
Daily Reading Plan
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NLT) — Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (MSG) — Don’t let anyone shake you up or get you excited over some breathless report or rumored letter from me that the day of the Master’s arrival has come and gone. Don’t fall for any line like that. Before that day comes, a couple of things have to happen. First, the Apostasy. Second, the debut of the Anarchist, a real dog of Satan.
The Lord’s church is witnessing difficult and challenging times today. Every aspect of society seems to continually oppose the truths and values of the Gospel. Truths that have remained firm and stable for ages! There seems to be an attitude that continues opposing everything that has any connection with the church of God. It brings to mind the warning that the Apostle John left us, “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists, whereby we know that it is the last hour” (1 John 2:18).
They are forces that continually oppose, and their ultimate goal is to deceive mankind. This opposition is described in Scripture as “apostasy”, which means an open rebellion against God and everything His church represents. Unfortunately because of this apostasy, we read in the pages of the Bible, which many believers fall away and are deceived by the enemy. Behind this open rebellion against God, are those who scripture calls antichrists, “even now are there many antichrists”. This is a danger that should alert us, the enemy is working behind the scene, to then present, “the man of sin, the son of perdition”.
Finally, after this great rebellion against God, comes the Antichrist, the one, “who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sits in the temple of God as God, posing as God “(2 Thessalonians 2:4). It is for this reason that we must be very alert not to fall under the deception of the enemy. We pray today that we may be passionate about Jesus! Living in communion with Him daily, enjoying His presence. This is the only way that we will not fall into the deception of these last days.
John 17:12 (NKJV) — While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 (NKJV) — And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
1 John 2:18 (NKJV) — Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
1 John 4:3 (NKJV) — and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
