Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25–26 (NKJV)
And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
1 John 5:11–12 (NKJV)

Thoughts Of Devotion:
The scene of Jesus arriving to his friend Lazarus’ tomb gives the opportunity for the disciples to know the revelation of Jesus as The Resurrection and The Life. In the midst of a whole scene of grief, cry and sadness Jesus decides to manifest his glory in an impacting way. He arrived to the city of Bethany not to conduct a funeral service, but on the contrary he arrived to raise his friend Lazarus from the dead. The Gospel Of John 11:43-44 tells us that as Jesus got to the tomb, “He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”44 And he who had died came out.”
What great blessing for those of us that have believed in Jesus as our Savior, we have a blessed hope. Jesus promises us eternal life! He tells us in his word, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” (John 11:25-26). We have the assurance that after this life there’s hope. The Lord has promised us a resurrection and eternal life with Him. This is why the Apostle Paul stated in Philippians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” He recognized that after this life a better life awaited him, an eternal life.
We must pray today that our eyes be open to spiritual things. That for a moment we would remove our eyes of earthly things and place them on eternal things. When one contemplates Jesus we will find in Him “The Resurrection and The Life”. In Jesus we find eternal life and nothing can separate us from it, not even death. Because he is The Resurrection! It’s all summed up in this, “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12). Let us give thanks to God that we have his Son Jesus Christ. If we have Him we have everything, not only in this life, but even better, in the life to come!
John 6:40 (NKJV) — 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 3:36 (NKJV) — 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
John 5:21 (NKJV) — 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.
John 5:26 (NKJV) — 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself
Romans 8:11 (NKJV) — 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
