This morning it is important to remember that God is our provider. He is our model and example to follow in everything, even in giving thanks for the provision that comes into our lives! In this portion of the Scriptures we see that before the multiplication of the loaves and fishes Jesus gave thanks. He gave thanks to the Father for the provision of the few loaves and fishes, which were not really much to feed the crowds! But we see that after he raised his prayer and gave thanks the provision miraculously multiplied, there was enough and even over!
It’s for this reason that we can declare that God is always faithful, he never fails to provide for our lives! He in his Word promises to supply our needs according to his riches in glory. The Psalmist made this statement in Psalm 37:25-26, “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.” When you trust in God, you can live grateful for the provision he gives us each day.
Let’s do something different today, let’s thank the Father for his provision! Let’s make a decision not to complain anymore or even be mumble about things we do not have and would like to have! Our attitude must be different, we must declare loudly, thank you Lord for your provision! Be it little or much, we never forget that God is always will be faithful to his promise. Your blessing will reach us if we take a thank-you posture. Let us enter into his presence with a grateful heart as Psalm 100: 4-5 invites us: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.” Amen!
