2 Chronicles 14:11 (NKJV)-11 And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
2 Chronicles 14: (NLT)-11 Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!”
2 Chronicles 14:11 (NLV)-11 Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “Lord, there is no one but You to help in the battle between the powerful and the weak. So help us, O Lord God. For we trust in You. In Your name we have come against these many people. O Lord, You are our God. Do not let any man win the fight against You.”
What a blessing to be able to call on the name of the Lord. Being able to seek the help of the Holy Spirit in difficult times to receive His assistance is a great blessing. In this verse we see Asa invoke the name of the Lord, and with all his heart he requested the help of God when facing a numerous invasion of the Egyptians. In 2 Chronicles 14: 9 we read, “Then Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah. Asad in facing this great multitude he raised a prayer, born of great despair and need.
The Bible teaches us that God works miraculously and liberates His people in a powerful way. God did not allow Asad to fail because his trust was not in his own strength but, in the exclusive power of the Holy Spirit. When Asad cried out, God responded by defeating his enemies! I remember the promise given in Psalm 34: 6-7, “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and delivered him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and defends them. “When we trust in God, he will fight and win all our battles in 2017!
Today, in the same way, we must call on the Holy Spirit to help us in all that we will face. He is more than willing to stand up and strengthen us! If we find ourselves in situations of despair, let us call upon the help of the Lord. In 1 Chronicles 5:20 we read, ” And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them, for they cried out to God in the battle. He heeded their prayer, because they put their trust in Him.” This morning it is necessary to put 100% of our dependence on the Holy Spirit. Our victory will not be because of how strong or wise we are, it will be only through His help!

For when I am weak, then I am strong.
