Topic: The Holy Spirit Is The Ink That Writes His Word In Us!
clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
2 Corinthians 3:3 (NKJV)
Daily Reading Plan
AMPC – You show and make obvious that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, not written with ink but with [the] Spirit of [the] living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
MSG – Does it sound like we’re patting ourselves on the back, insisting on our credentials, asserting our authority? Well, we’re not. Neither do we need letters of endorsement, either to you or from you. You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you. Christ himself wrote it—not with ink, but with God’s living Spirit; not chiseled into stone, but carved into human lives—and we publish it
VOICE – You are the living letter of the Anointed One, the Liberating King, nurtured by us and inscribed, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God—a letter too passionate to be chiseled onto stone tablets, but emblazoned upon the human hear
The Apostle Paul in this portion of the Scriptures brings to mind the inner work of the Holy Spirit in the believer. He expresses the new covenant of the believer with God, one where the Holy Spirit is active working in the depths of our hearts, a spiritual process very different from the old covenant! We read in Jeremiah 31:33 as he looks at a different future and with more glory, “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. “
Thanks to the Father for sending his Holy Spirit to dwell within our hearts, only through his work in us can we experience a genuine transformation. A new day, an even greater glory! In 2 Corinthians 3: 6 he tells us, “who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” The Holy Spirit is the one who writes his Word in us, through Him it is that we walk in his statutes and keep his precepts. Only the Holy Spirit is the one who can do this complete work in us, a work that we could never complete!
It is for this reason that we must allow the Holy Spirit to renew us and give us a new obedient heart to Him. In Ezekiel 36: 26-27 he tells us, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Let us pray this morning that we are those letters where the Holy Spirit writes and records the Word of God in us. Amen!
