Thoughts Of Devotion:
The heart of the invocation of the Apostle Paul in this portion of Scripture was to highlight the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He reminds the Corinthians of the great love and amazing grace that the Lord has demonstrated to mankind. In Philippians 2: 7 it tells us, “but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” How great the grace of the Lord is! He loved us so much that He took the form of a servant, He became man to come and save humanity. Jesus identified himself with us in our condition of sin and uncleanness.
Jesus being rich became poor for us. His generous grace through salvation enriched us as believers. When we were lost and hopeless Jesus saved us and made us new creatures in Him. Romans 5: 8 tells us, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Today we are the richest human beings in this world. Nothing compares to his immense salvation and extraordinary grace that we have in our lives. We have gone from rags to riches in Christ Jesus!
Through the grace of Jesus we have spiritual wealth in heavenly places like Ephesians 1:3 tells us, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Today, we, by the grace of God, have a complete dependence on Jesus, all we have is by the grace of God. Before, we were poor, miserable and hopeless, but today we have a new life in Jesus! Let us enjoy His wealth in our lives! We are no longer poor, we are most blessed in this world.

Philippians 2:7 (NKJV) — 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
John 1:14 (NKJV) — 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Romans 5:8 (NKJV) — 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Ephesians 2:7 (NKJV) — 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV) — 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit bewith you all. Amen.
