Topic: Before Every Revival There Must Be Repentance.
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,

If we desire to see a true revival in our lives, it will take for us to come before God with a broken and contrite heart. Scripture tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land”. Genuine repentance is what God wants from us. It is the key to see the presence of God poured out upon his people.
By taking an attitude of repentance, it is important to examine our lives and see our true spiritual condition. When we do this, we may come to see areas in our lives that are not pleasing to God. It is in this condition of brokenness that we must raise our prayer, as David did in Psalm 51:1, “Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions”. From the depths of our being we should cry to God for mercy and favor. That through our repented heart, the Lord may erase all our sins and transgressions.
The fruit of our repentance will be that God will send times of refreshing in His presence. He promises to visit us in a fresh new way. As His Word promises, “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). Now is the time to anticipate the newness God has for our lives! He wants to pour out His Presence into our lives and ministries. All It takes is for us to take the first step of repentance, present yourself before Him with a broken and contrite heart.
