The Lord Blessed The Latter Days

Topic: The Importance Of Staying In The Process Of Blessing.

And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Job 42:10 (NKJV)

Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

Job 42:12 (NKJV)

After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. 17 So Job died, old and full of days.

Job 42:16-17(NKJV)

Thoughts of Devotion:

In reading the history of the servant Job we discover that God always has a process to show His blessing on our lives. Sometimes it’s a long journey in which we will be tested in our faith and dependence on Him. Although Job’s life was one of great honesty and integrity he had to go through the process to see the blessing of God. You read how the Lord expresses himself against the adversary in Job 1: 8, “Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

Imagine the great man that Job was, even God himself described him as a perfect, righteous and fearing man!  Job was a great example, a man that, in reading his story, after losing everything, kept his integrity to God. Job had to go through the process of losing before winning. God’s plan was to bless Job with twice as much as the possession, but first had to test his integrity, his character, to see what he was made of. I wonder what would have happened to Job if halfway through his blessing had lost his faith and dependence on God?

On how many occasions do we make the mistake of abandoning the process of blessing? At times you make the mistake of just seeing today, my test! My loss! My shortage! and fail to see that the great blessings that are to come in our future. We forget God’s promise in Haggai 2: 8-9, ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former…” Today we believe that our future will be more glorious than our past. We cannot disqualify the process of God to see our blessing come to pass. We must determine ourselves on this day to stay in God’s plan. 2016 is the year to see the overflowing blessings of God!
