Be Anxious For Nothing

Topic: We Must Not Let Worry Dominate Us

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

John 7-8

Bible Versions:

Philippians 4:6 (MSG) – Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.

Philippians 4:6(NLT) – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV) – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Thoughts Of Devotion:

Without a doubt, in our christian life we are going to experience difficulties and challenges that will come to our lives, we are not exempt from problems! Our journey in this world will surely bring a good dose of difficulties toward us. Even our Lord Jesuschrist told us this in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” These things will come to us to bring worry, anguish, and restlessness in our being. If we let it, for sure we will fall under a state of discouragement and the enemy will achieve to rob us of our peace and security in God.

It is for this reason that the Apostle Paul warned the brothers that were in Philippi to not let worry and the hard work move us of our security in the Lord. It didn’t matter what they were going through, Paul assured them that there was no reason for them to live their lives drowned in anguish and discouragement. This reminds me of what Jesus told his disciples in Mathew 6:31-32, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”

Today we can live lives free of the worry from the situations that we are facing. As difficult or impossible that it might seem, God offers us a peace and surpass all understanding! This morning you can be free of the worry, there is no reason for worry to dwell indoor heart and mind. We must be still and know that God has control of our future. In Mathew 6:34 it tells us, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” In this life, why must we be tormented of worries when God is caring for you? Have the assurance and security that God is taking care of you, and that our tomorrow is in the hands of the Lord.
