Topic: Discipleship Is Necessary For Spiritual Growth
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Bible Reading Plan
2 Timothy 2:2 (NLT) — You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
If we are going to establish ourselves as believers and reach spiritual maturity, we must understand the importance of the process of discipleship. The Bible clearly speaks about discipleship as being part of spiritual growth. Before Jesus left to be at the right hand of The Father he commissioned his disciples to go throughout the world and disciple the nations. Jesus’ vision to build his church has always been, make disciples! There is no other plan or strategy. It’s for this reason that even the Apostle Paul commissions his son in the faith Timothy to implement the principle of discipleship into his ministry.
Discipleship is the key to experience growth and development in our lives. First of all, it is necessary to have someone that is working and discipling our lives. God has established people that will help us in our spiritual journey. People that will be able to speak into our lives and help us grow in The Lord. Do you have someone like this in your life this morning? If we don’t have someone who is discipling us, we run the danger of becoming stagnant and limiting ourselves in our spiritual development. It is essential to have some that will ask us to give account of the condition of our spiritual life. We all need a discipler!
This morning we understand that discipleship is an act of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He is continually working in us, but even so, the role of the discipler is important. The discipler is the instrument God uses to bring formation to our lives. Today we must make a decision to be teachable and learn from the people God has placed to help us in our growth. We are in a season when God desires to establish us towards spiritual growth, but it’s up to us to take the necessary steps to experience new levels of maturity.

1 Timothy 4:6 (NKJV) — If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.
Acts 5:42 (NKJV) — And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
Acts 14:21 (NKJV) — And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch,
Acts 6:7 (NKJV) — Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.
