Devotional Thoughts:

How important it is to stand in the house of the Lord. Being able to be rooted like palm trees in the gospel. In Psalms 1: 3 we are told, ” He [Shall Be] like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”  This must be the goal of each of one of us, to establish ourselves well, to have a firm and lasting foundation in the Christian life. If we don’t have these roots it will be impossible to thrive or bear spiritual fruit in our lives. When we are well planted we will be robust trees that have the capacity to be fruitful.

One of the characteristics of a well-planted Christian with deep roots in the spiritual is that he will bear much fruit; his life will be fruitful and will be cleansed to give even more fruit!  John 15: 2  tells us that, ” Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. ”  It is so important to be receiving spiritual nourishment through deep roots. When our roots are superficial, then we run the danger of being weak and unstable and any wind will move us from our position in Christ.

Today I encourage you to be rooted in the Lord. Plant yourself in the church where God has you; do not be moved too easily by the circumstances you face! Remember you are a “planted tree”, your time will come, and your day of bearing fruit comes in the time of God. In Jeremiah 17: 8 God gives us a promise, ” For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Today do not let anything move you, plant yourself, decide to make roots and you will see you will bear much fruit for the Lord.
