What a great revelation Abram received when God declared himself to be “El Shaddai”, The Almighty God. The Lord spoke to Abram in a time of his life where the promise God seemed something distant. History teaches us that 25 years had gone by since Abram left Haran in obedience to the promise. In Genesis 12:4 it tells us, “So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. How much time had gone by without seeing the fulfillment of the promise!
Has something similar happened to you? Are you facing an impossible situation in your life? On occasions this happens in our situation. God speaks to us and gives us a promise, but it’s hard to believe that it will come to fulfillment. We sometimes spend years waiting to see the fulfillment of what God has promised and spoken to our lives. We don’t see a single sign of its fulfillment! It’s in these phase of our Christian journey that we are challenged to believe and come to know that there is nothing too difficult for God. God asked this question to Abram in Genesis 18:14, “Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
This morning The Lord asks us the same question, is there something too difficult for me? We should never forget about the God we have, an Almighty God! There is nothing impossible for Him; He is El Shaddai, Almighty. If God has not worked in our situation it is not because He can’t, He can do all things. We must continue to pray and believe that God will for our lives will always fulfilled. He never arrives late; He knows the precise moment that he will fulfill His promise in us. Our responsibility is to just continue believing in His promise and wait upon His answer. There’s no reason to doubt and be filled with insecurity, believe that God is in control of everything this morning.
