The decision is ours, no one can do it for us! In our own will we must choose who we are going to serve? In Joshua 24:15 it tells us, “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” “It is a decision that will mark our future and the future of our children. The consequences will be not only be for today, but for the future generation!
Today we can decide to serve God completely, or reserve ourselves in our commitment to Him. But we can not do both and think that we are truly pleasing to God. In Matthew 6:24 it states, “No man can serve two masters; For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will esteem the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and riches. “Jesus already said it in his word, we can not have two masters in our lives. It is impossible to have the Holy Spirit directing our lives, and at the same time doing our own will. At the end of the day we will fail in our spiritual life.
Today we must decide to live completely for the Lord. To be able to live filled with the Holy Spirit, walking in the abundant life that He offers us! The Holy Spirit calls us to a life of commitment and intimacy with Him. We cannot fall into a state of spiritual coldness. We must be on fire for God, passionate for more than other things! In Revelation 3: 15-16 says, “ 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
This morning the Holy Spirit knows our spiritual condition, we cannot deceive Him! Let us pray that today we can make the greatest decision of our lives, to serve and love God with our whole being!
