But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
Daily Reading Plan
1 Chronicles 8-9
Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) — And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) — And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 (MSG) — It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.
On several occasions I’ve asked myself, How important is faith in our lives? The truth is that our faith is essential and vital if we want to please God. Nothing can replace or compensate faith in the life of a believer! Even the Scriptures go as far as saying that, “whatever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23) It is essential to examine and view the condition of our faith this morning. Being honest with yourself and with God is essential, in order to take our faith to another level.
We recognize that it is very important to have faith, but beyond this we must ask ourselves, in whom have we placed our faith today? God desires for our faith be completely and 100% in Him. There will be times that everyone will fail us and even fall short of our expectations. In times like these we must believe that He is present and real in our lives. In all that we are going through we must understand that he has everything under control. He is still God despite the dilemmas and problems that surround us daily. Our faith shouldn’t just be to believe that God exists, but believe that He keeps his promises also.
Pray that this morning our faith leads us to seek and yearn wholeheartedly. That our goal may be to seek a personal relationship with God. As Scripture tells us in Jeremiah 29:13, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” It’s a great reward for those who seek him with all their heart! What will be the reward promised to us? The greatest reward is not in what we can get, but in fact enjoy an intimate and personal communion with Him. There is no greater gift that God can give us besides His presence and fellowship with us. This only includes those who seek him with all their heart!
