Romans 6:14 (NIV) For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Devotional Thoughts:

This morning the Holy Spirit is the one who has given us the ability to walk free in the Lord, a complete freedom! The Spirit of God is our inner strength, He breaks all the chains of sin that desire to rule over us. Romans 6: 6 tells us, “knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” The Lord’s will is that we no longer serve sin and it’s lusts, but this is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit!

The same power that lifted Christ from the dead dwells within us as believers. It is this same power that frees us from all sin that tries to dominate us. The promise in Romans 8:11 tells us, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” If for some reason we have allowed sin to rule over us, there is hope, we no longer have to live defeated!

God’s command for our lives is not to allow sin to reign in our lives, but to live our lives under the fullness of the Holy Spirit. May we enjoy the fullness and power that only the Spirit can give. In Romans 6: 12-13 it says,  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members  as  instruments of righteousness to God.” Let us pray that this morning we may walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, By doing this sin cannot have dominion over us!
