Topic: The Believer Is Identified With Christ On The Cross
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

1 Kings 1-2
Galatians 2:20 (MSG) — Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (NLT) — My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV) — I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
We as believers are identified with the Cross of Jesus. The cross represents the death of sin, and the new life we have in God. A life where sin reigns no more, and its power over us has been broken entirely. The Apostle Paul declared realizing this truth, “knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that it may no longer serve sin”. Through the cross, we will identify with Christ’s death .
The same way that Jesus died on the cross, we too have crucified the old man. All our passions and desires of the flesh have been crucified on the cross, Galatians 5:24 tells us, “And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires”. We are now in Christ, we no longer live, but Christ lives in our hearts. We live for Him, as a new creation in God! We left our own desires and will on the cross, the Lord is now in first place in our lives.
We now understand that our life does not belong to us, we are now hidden in God , as Colossians 3:3 says, “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God”. What a blessing and privilege to know that we are hidden in God! Our past life has been placed on the Cross, and we have been resurrected into a new life. We are crucified with the Lord , and as a result we shall also live with Him. It’s for this reason that we can see into the future with hope and anticipation. Because we died, Christ now lives forever in the center of our heart. Thank God we have found our new life on the cross!
