He Who Brings Good News

Topic: The Gospel Is The Proclamation Of The Good News

How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Isaiah 52:7 (NKJV)

Daily Reading Plan

Joshua 11-13

Bible Versions:

Isaiah 52:7 (MSG) — How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger bringing good news, Breaking the news that all’s well, proclaiming good times, announcing salvation, telling Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Isaiah 52:7 (NLT) — How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!

Thoughts of Devotion:

We are the messengers this morning! We are those who have been commissioned by the Lord to preach the good news of the gospel to everyone. We have good news for a world that is dark, hopeless, and in crisis. In Romans 10:15 it says, ” And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” There is no more beautiful picture than seeing a crowd of messengers carrying the Good News to the poor and needy!

One may ask, what is this good news? It is a great privilege to announce the good news of redemption, salvation and peace to all mankind. The message is simple but powerful, Christ died for you, loves you and wants to give you eternal life! The heart of the good news is found in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” What beautiful news of a God who loves and desires that no one should perish, but come to salvation.

Now is the time to announce this good news, we cannot remain silent! If we do not do it, who will? No one else will do the job we should be doing. What God commissioned us to do, we must do so urgently and promptly. There is no time to lose, the time is now! The fields are ready for the harvest, the world is ready to hear the good news of salvation. All humanity has a deep desire to hear the good news of Jesus Christ in the midst of sad and desperate news. Recognize that everyone is in crisis and is about to face a spiritual collapse, only the church has the solution in Christ Jesus!
