And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation, but as it is written: “To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand.”
Romans 15:20-21 (NKJV)
Bible In A Year Reading
Romans 15:20–21 (MSG) — I have trailblazed a preaching of the Message of Jesus all the way from Jerusalem far into northwestern Greece. This has all been pioneer work, bringing the Message only into those places where Jesus was not yet known and worshiped. My text has been, Those who were never told of him— they’ll see him! Those who’ve never heard of him— they’ll get the message!
The Apostle Paul exposes an aspect of evangelism that is very essential and important. Paul brings to mind the importance of taking the gospel to places where Jesus has never been preached. He emphasizes the great need for the church to not place barriers or limits to the labor of evangelism. Through his life and ministry we see him model this continually. His purpose and calling was to preach the gospel in territories that had never been touched. Even his calling was primarily aimed to the Gentiles, whom many of them had never heard the message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
This morning, as I think about this, I personally believe that if we are to achieve success in delivering the message of the gospel we must not lose the aspect of pioneer or trailblazing evangelism. There are places that are yet to be impacted staring with our cities and extending to the urban cities of the world. God has commissioned us to take this message to new territories. God has called us to be a ministry that spearheads, opening new frontiers so many more may be saved.
God calls us this morning to ignite the fire and passion for doing new and radical things that have never been done. We must pray for The Lord to give us new ideas and ways to open new doors of evangelism. We cannot stay within the four walls of the church and expect to make an impact in our world. It’s time to break the mold and allow The Lord to use us in a new and effective way. It’s not time to fall into a routine and do things as they’ve always been done! The Lord desires to give us new ideas and strategies in prayer, so that together we may impact this generation. God has raised us up to be an end times movement. We still have much work and labor for The Lord. Let us pray that we may be more effective in reaching this generation for Christ!
