Thoughts of Devotion:
It feels good when one does something well, with excellence in the Lord’s work. We all long to hear the words, very well done good and faithful servant! It brings a sense of satisfaction in knowing that one is being fruitful for the Lord. 2 Corinthians tells us, “But he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.” When we do a good job for the Lord, He notices! God sees if we do it faithfully and carefully, or if we do it negligently and with lack of motivation.
God has even greater things for our lives and ministry, but the key to get it is to be faithful to what God has already given us. Many times we want more, but we have not learned to be faithful with the little that we have! We want to possess more talent, more skills, more financial resources, but sometimes the mistake is that we have not become diligent and faithful to what God already placed in our hands. In Matthew 24:45-46, it reminds us that, “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.”
The challenge today is, begin to be faithful in the little! Perhaps it seems insignificant before the eyes of others, but remember that God is watching. The Lord is watching your faithfulness, and your reward will certainly come in time. In John 12:26, Jesus made us a promise, “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” The best is coming for those who are faithful to the Lord, do not be discouraged! God honors those who honor him, and his blessing will come into your life if you are faithful.
