Daily Devotion:

One very important thing that the fruit of kindness does in our lives is that it gives us the ability to be friendly. Without the fruit of kindness it would be difficult to have good interpersonal relationships, since a friendly person behaves with sympathy, respect and in a pleasant way. In Proverbs 18:24 it tells us, “A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.. ” When one genuinely cares for people, and behaves like a believer full of the Holy Spirit, the fruit will be sincere and loyal friends.

Good friendships in our lives should never be taken lightly, they should always be valued and cared for! One will come to be a very blessed person, when one has true friends around him! Even Jesus in John 15: 14-15 valued friendship called to his own fellow disciples, “You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.. “

Today is the day of giving thankful for the true and sincere friends that surround us in our lives. They are those friends who are with us in good times as in bad times. When everyone can forget us, sincere and true friends are always present! It reminds me of what Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.” Perhaps true friends are few, and it’s for this reason that they must be valued and treated with kindness. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit always produces the fruit of kindness, this is the only way we will be friendly with all!

Foundational Scriptures:

Proverbs 17:9 (NKJV) 9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.

Proverbs 16:28 (NKJV) 28 A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.

Proverbs 17:17 (NKJV) 17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) 24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

John 15:14-15 (NKJV) 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you
