One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is patience. Patience is a virtue that has the ability to endure, tolerate and go through adverse situations that come at different times in our lives. In Ephesians he tells us, “with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,” (4: 2). Patience is the ability to be slow to wrath and enrage when we face unpleasant situations that want to irritate us. Patience is something that is expected of a believer that have matured in his spiritual life. Only those who walk in the fullness of the Spirit can bear the fruit of patience!
The Bible teaches us that only the fruit of the Spirit produces this, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” (Galatians 5:22). We understand that the ability to control anger is something we cannot do that ourselves, in our own strength. We need the help and intervention of the Holy Spirit! Without him we cant do nothing. The inward change and the ability to cast aside anger and grow in patients is something that only God can produce in us. The answer to be a more patient believer, and be able to endure everything that comes into our lives is found in the person of the Holy Spirit.
We must pray to the Lord this morning to give us the grace and ability to grow in patience regardless of the situations we face. The only solution to overcome anger and frustration is the divine patience! In 1 Thessalonians 5:14 he tells us, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all..” Patience is the attitude That leads us to be able to withstand setbacks and difficulties. I invite you this morning to ask God for his help and grace to change and become a patient person. In the name of Jesus! We believe it.
