Thoughts of Devotion:
One may ask, what is true peace? Today there is much talk of peace, but really who has the genuine peace in this world? In 1 Thessalonians 5: 3 tells us, “For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” The world speaks much about peace and security, they long for peace, but they never manage to have it! Instead what comes is destruction and disgrace! The world will never manage to have true peace, true peace, the supernatural peace that only the Holy Spirit can give us.
The peace of the Holy Spirit is unique, it’s a peace that is unshakable and safe. Even in the midst of any situation the amazing peace of God governs us. That is why we should not walk in fear. In Psalm 27: 1-2 tells us ” The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.” When we have the peace of the Holy Spirit fear and doubt will not find a place in our hearts.
Today we can live in peace, we can have an inner peace regardless of external conditions. Our peace is guaranteed, without necessarily having absence of problems and difficulties! Surely we face many situations in this world, but we know that the peace of the Holy Spirit is with us. In Hebrews 13: 6 tells us, “So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me? ” This morning we have the help of the Holy Spirit, we will not live in fear and insecurity. Although we are in the world, we do not live in the same condition in the world! Our peace is eternal and permanent.
