Put His Holy Spirit Within Them
Topic: The Holy Spirit Enables Us For Our Journey
11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: “Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them, 12 Who led them by the right hand of Moses, With His glorious arm, Dividing the water before them To make for Himself an everlasting name,
Isaiah 63:11-12 (NKJV)

Thoughts of Devotion:
Each one of us has to walk our journey here on earth. A life long journey, where we will need the help and direction of the Holy Spirit. In this portion of Scriptures we see how the Spirit of God guided the people of Israel through the desert. After coming out of Egypt, freeing them from the armies of Pharaoh, the Spirit guided them opening the Red sea, and doing great signs. And they were even provided of every need, and they didn’t lack anything as it tells us in Nehemiah 9:21, “Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; They lacked nothing; Their clothes did not wear out And their feet did not swell.”
The guide of the Holy Spirit made it possible for them to enter the promise land. It was the Spirit who guided them on the long journey. In Nehemiah 9:20 it tells us, “You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst.” They were enabled to follow their journey through the desert. The role of the Holy Spirit was to guide them through the dangers and circumstances that they faced. For every challenge and opposition the Holy Spirit moved them forward.
They were pastored by the Holy Spirit as it teaches us in Isaiah 63:14, “As a beast goes down into the valley, And the Spirit of the Lord causes him to rest, So You lead Your people, To make Yourself a glorious name.” Today this is all we need to advance with success in the way that the Holy Spirit has designed especially for us; without his care and counsel we will never be able to fulfill the purposes of God! Only the enabling of the Holy Spirit will help us finalize our walk with victory and much spiritual fruit in our lives.
Isaiah 48:16 (NKJV) —16 “Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord God and His Spirit Have sent Me.”
Deuteronomy 4:30-31 (NKJV) — 30 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice 31 (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
Isaiah 51:9-10 (NKJV) — 9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent? 10 Are You not the One who dried up the sea, The waters of the great deep; That made the depths of the sea a road For the redeemed to cross over?
Exodus 14:30 (NKJV) — 30 So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
Nehemiah 9:21 (NKJV) — 21 Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; They lacked nothing; Their clothes did not wear out And their feet did not swell.
Haggai 2:5(NKJV) — 5 ‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’
