Thoughts Of Devotion:
Nothing compares to the life in the Spirit, walking in the Spirit is the highest quality of life! When the Holy Spirit dwells in the life of a believer, the evidence will be of one who lives a new life, abundant and overly victorious! In Romans 8:9 it tells us, “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” The life in the Spirit is not optional, it is something that the Word of God orders us!
We will never be able to overcome the flesh, without the work of the Holy Spirit in us. It is only through the fullness of the Holy Spirit that we will achieve all the desires of the flesh. In Romans 8:13 it warns us saying, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” Walking in the Spirit is the only way that the desires of the flesh will perish. We will never achieve to overcome the flesh with our own strengths, or simply our human will! If we try it surely we will fail, and our strength will be useless and without spiritual fruit.
It is only through walking in the Spirit that we will experience complete and total victory over our flesh; the desires of the flesh are strong and continuous! Moment after moment its impulses and passions will battle against the believer that walks in the Holy Spirit. It is a battle that we will all need to fight daily. In 1 Peter 2:11 it tells us, “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,” Today it is possible to abstain from the disorderly desires of the flesh, and live a victorious life in the Spirit. We need to yield out will and desire to the Holy Spirit, only in this way will we become empowered to walk in another level of life, an abundant life, a life that is overflowing in the Holy Spirit!
John 6:63 (NKJV) ― 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
