As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
I Peter 4:10 (NKJV)
Bible In A Year Reading Plan
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) — Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter4:10 (AMP) — As each of you has received a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment), employ it for one another as [befits] good trustees of God’s many-sided grace [faithful stewards of the extremely diverse powers and gifts granted to Christians by unmerited favor].
1 Peter 4:10 (NLT) — God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
What a blessing it is to know that the Holy Spirit has given spiritual gifts to each and every one of us. Scripture assures us of a variety of gifts that the Spirit has given to his church for its edification. Gifts that help the work of The Lord grow and develop towards maturity. The Holy Spirit has given us gifts so that together we may use them within the local church. We must ask ourselves, do I know the gift God has given me? If we are to reach maturity in The Lord and be effective in our calling we must be good stewards of our gifts, talents, and abilities that the Lord has given to us through The Spirit.
If we are going to be good stewards of the gifts the Holy Spirit has given us we must understand that they are given for the edification of others. Other will be benefitted by the grace God has deposited in our lives. There are people today that need to be ministered by the gifts God has given to our lives. I ask myself, are we willing to use our gifts for the benefit of others? This is what determines if we are good stewards. If we are not using our gift, then we are holding back our spiritual growth and maturity.
The believers that mature and grow are those who understand that they live for others. The reality is that God has given of his grace not for our own benefit, but for the benefit of others. Let us pray this morning that we may develop our spiritual gifts to be a greater benefit to the work of The Lord. That if for any reason we have not been good stewards of them, we may decide to be more diligent today. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit may pour of His grace and anointing over our lives and we may see much fruit in the days to come.
Romans 12:6 (NKJV) — Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;
1 Corinthians 4:1 (NKJV) — Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Matthew 24:45 (NKJV) — “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?
1 Corinthians 14:26 (NKJV) — How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
Romans 12:5 (NKJV) — so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
