Thoughts of Devotion:
The Holy Spirit is a person, not just a force or power! He is the third person of the trinity. He is not an impersonal force, but a person that desires to have a communion with us. In the light of the Word one can see clearly that God created us to have a daily fellowship and an intimate communion with Him. Since the Garden of Eden, when God created Adam and Eve, his purpose was to fellowship with them and enjoy their company. His voice and presence was something in common that Adam and Eve enjoyed daily! The Bible teaches us that “when the cool evening breeze would blow, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking in the garden.” (NLT)
What a great privilege they enjoyed, a unique and special opportunity. To enjoy the presence of God, in a beautiful garden, made especially to live in communion with the Creator. They were the only creatures in all of the creation of God that had the capacity to have intimate and close fellowship with the great creator of the universe. We have the same privilege today! It brings to mind what Leviticus 26:12 tells us, “I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.” Thank God for all of this, what a great blessing to have the Holy Spirit, he promises to walk with us every day!
Today we can enjoy this sweet communion with the Holy Spirit. It was with this purpose that we were created, our goal and end in this life is to know him intimately. To go beyond the superficial into deep! Through prayer and the Word we can know more of his personality. He has unique attributes. He speaks to us, guides, teaches, encourages, comforts, intercedes, and many more things. But only through spending time with Him can we achieve to know him more close and intimately as a person. To have a special place to enjoy his presence and his glory, a secret place, where we will live in fellowship and communion daily!
