But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
I Corinthians 12:7 (NKJV)
But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
I Corinthians 12:11 (NKJV)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
I Corinthians 12:1 (NKJV)
Bible In A Year Reading Plan
1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV) — Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
1 Corinthians 12:11 (NLT) — It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.
1 Corinthians 12:1 (NLT) — Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this.
The role and part of The Holy Spirit is very important in our equipping for the ministry. We have already come to see how The Holy Spirit teaches us and anoints us to fulfill the calling and purpose in our lives with effectiveness. But, there is still more that he has to offer to assist us in our equipping, His spiritual gifts. Scripture tells us of the importance of not ignoring the spiritual gifts that he has giving each one of us for the edifying of the church. It is the Holy Spirit that gives us each a special gift to enable us in doing the work of The Lord. What better equipping than the equipping The Holy Spirit provides!
We should look to be equipped with the gifts that the Holy Spirit offers us. We cannot ignore the fact that without his gifts we will never come to be effective in our service to The Lord. We should always seek them as 1 Corinthians 14:12 says,”Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel”. The Holy Spirit desires to manifest its grace and gifts upon us, but its necessary to desire and seek to know them diligently. There are people today that because they do not know their spiritual gifts they will not come to be effective in the work of The Lord. Some find themselves frustrated and discouraged because of the fact that they are not functioning in their gifts.
Let us pray this morning that we may be open and conscious of the spiritual gifts that God has given us through his Holy Spirit. It’s only then that we will see results and the fruit of our labor. Understand that God has made us all different and has deposited different gifts so that together we may grow the work of The Lord. Ask yourself this morning, do I know what gifts the Holy Spirit has given me? Am I using my spiritual gifts for the benefit and advantage of others? Lets propose ourselves this year to receive the equipping of The Spirit through his gifts. This is God’s time for us!
