Thoughts of Devotion:
In the first sermon that Peter preached his emphasis was that salvation was only found in Jesus of Nazareth. The Apostle Peter described Jesus as the accredited man by the Father. The word accredited refers to someone who has overcome the trial, good or sufficient, is declared skilled or competent. Jesus had the most important affirmation, the approval and authority of the Father! In Acts 10:38 it tells us, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
The approval of the Father came with a seal of great wonders, miracles, and signs in the ministry of Jesus. It was very evident that Jesus was the Messiah, the only one through which we could obtain eternal salvation. The approval of God was evident, no one would deny this truth! Even those that doubted he came from the Father, the works of Jesus gave him credibility. In John 14:10-11, “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”
The works of Jesus were innumerable, many aren’t even written as it declares in John 2:30-31, “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” Today he keeps doing great miracles among us, we have a Christ of power who transforms lives! The answer for this world is very simple, his name is Jesus the healer, deliverer and miracle worker! Without a doubt there is nothing impossible, Jesus is a man approved by God.
