Thoughts Of Devotion:
This morning in the light of the word we achieve to see the great privilege, and the great blessing of being instructed and taught by the Holy Spirit. The promise from the Father was that he would send the Holy Spirit as a guide, to bring direction to our lives as believers. The Holy Spirit will dwell in the heart of the believer, to then direct our lives in the truth. In John 14:17 it tells us, “the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
The role of the Holy Spirit as our helper is very important for us today. His work is to help us in our walk and spiritual development. We see in the original language the word helper is “parakletos” which means “a person called lawyer to defend an accused, an expert that is called to advise on a difficult situation or need.” What a blessing to have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to advise us and guide us in hard and difficult moments. The scripture is fulfilled of Psalms 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
We must be open to the direction and teaching of the Holy Spirit. He is the one who will open the eyes of our understanding to comprehend more of his word. Without him we won’t be able to understand in totality the word of God. In 1 Corinthians 2:13, it tells us this, “This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.” It’s the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit to teach us and enable us to accomplish the ministry we have. He is more than willing to take us to other levels in growth and maturity, but it is in us to be docile to receive his teaching.
Thank God we don’t have to be without direction, or under the lies of the enemy in our lives. We have the Holy Spirit that guides us in the truth! We must yield our will completely so that he can guide us through the correct path. The Holy Spirit through his anointing will teach us the way we must follow. Let us remember what 1 John 2:27 tells us, “As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.” In conclusion let us pray that the anointing of the Holy Spirit will guide us and walk us through the truth today.
